Early access is now live on select platforms for Hogwarts Legacy, which is one of this year’s most anticipated game releases. This huge release is being speculated to be one of the reasons why the Hogwarts wizards and regular folk on the PlayStation Network (PSN) are reportedly having trouble with the dementors of the world wide web: network/server issues.
Many PSN users are reportedly running into the WS-116521-6 error while trying to access their games. According to PSN, this error generally means that the service/server is currently undergoing maintenance or a server failure has occurred.
If the actual cause of the issue is indeed server failure, then the users will have to wait until the PSN folks have solved the problem on the server side. There are, however, possibilities of other causes that could be leading the users to encounter the annoying WS-116521-6 error. In this case, there are a couple of things you can do to try to fix the error.
fixes recommended by PSN for the WS-116521-6 error (in order):
- Reset your PS5’s internet connection settings and run an internet connection test
- Restart your Router and Modem (wait for 5 minutes before turning it back on)
- Try accessing your games again later as the line may be temporarily congested
As Roy Trenneman in the popular British sitcom, The IT Crowd, says, have you tried turning it off and on again? That really might be the solution the PSN users need in this situation. You can even try applying it to your console by rebooting it if the above fixes do not work. You can check the PSN Service Status too, to figure out whether it is your network or the PlayStation Network that’s causing the error.
If all else fails, your best bet is to take a break and go grab a coffee or go out on a walk, or better yet, engage in another pastime activity. After all, it might just be traffic congestion caused by too many wizards flying on their broomsticks. You can always come back again when the skies clear out.
