If you’re like me and are part of the PCMR, you might be feeling a little left out with the release of Horizon Forbidden West for the PlayStation only; although we did get Horizon Zero Dawn on PC after a few years of its release on the PlayStation.
You can’t play Horizon Forbidden West on PC as of now, there still are some very similar games available for PC that you should certainly try out if you liked the Horizon series. Here’s a list of them for you in no particular order.
Assassins creed Valhalla
Assassins creed Valhalla is a truly amazing game; 9th century England is an exciting world of warring factions and Viking raids. And talking to your longship after catching some mead is just pure joy. Assassins creed Valhalla has also made an effort to bring in more old-school Assassins creed elements, which means you could use your hidden blade or throw axes. It is an immersive world that you should check out.
God of War
God of war has recently been unshackled from its PlayStation exclusivity. It is something that I will never stop thanking sony for, it is an essential single-player adventure that has dangerously compelling combat, and this is not some mere mortal PC port. The beautiful visuals have been dialed up to 4k with support for 21 by nine to make you feel like the Norse world surrounds you, and if you liked Horizon for its story, you certainly would love this.
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Immortals Fenyx Rising is an eye-watering, beautiful open-world adventure starring many Norse gods. It certainly is different when compared against God of war. Immortals Fenyx Rising was a bit of a surprise hit when released. The combat in the game is brilliant, and there are multiple skills to personalize your combat style. Worth checking out if you like games with a less serious undertone.
Biomutant
Biomutant will mesmerize you with its bright, colorful art style, it really is quite similar to Horizon as it takes place in a post-apocalyptic open-world, but unlike Horizon, it also has Kung Fu, which some of you might not have expected, the games very customizable and has crazy weapons you can use to take on strange creatures, it is something you might find yourself addicted to after playing for a while.
Far Cry Primal
The Far Cry series is quite popular for its huge open worlds, almost endless weapons, and very adorable critter to team up with. The game does a good job of giving the player the feeling of progression, and apart from that, it is a brilliantly colorful world and is something you should give a shot.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Suppose the open world isn’t your style, and you prefer not to lose yourself in an open world of distractions and collectibles, apart from that. In that case, the game does offer you choices on how you would like to play like if you would like to go in guns blazing or take your enemies out with sneak attacks, it also now has a stack of DLC’s included but also does give you actual tombs to explore.
The Witcher 3:Wild Hunt
You cannot finish this list without mentioning The Witcher 3, its immersive world that will make you fall in love with it all over again. Yes, you cannot ride around on robot dinosaurs, but roach does make an ideal substitute. It is the perfect story to escape into, which is something Horizon does so well you will not be let down with the witcher.
The details of the game are almost endless. The combat style is also pretty engaging. This truly is something you should experience for yourself.
