A fire-breathing reptile; Skeledirge is a new addition to the world of Pokémon. It is one of the starters in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The two games which are Nintendo Switch family exclusives are the latest and the first instalment in the 9th generation Pokémon game series.
Skeledirge is the 3rd stage of evolution: starting with the adorable Fuecoco, who evolves into the still-adorable but mildly-threatening Crocolor, who then finally evolves into the fierce Skeledirge. Don’t let the appearance deceive you, though. Skeledirge actually belongs to the Singer Pokémon category. Its personality, therefore, can be described as gentle but powerful.

This Pokémon is Fire and Ghost-type and is effective against a wide variety of Pokémon who are susceptible to Fire or Ghost-type attacks. As any Pokémon trainer already knows, to make the most out of a Pokémon or to fight against one effectively, one must know both the Pokémon’s strengths and weaknesses. So let’s briefly explore this Pokémon’s weaknesses.
Skeledirge Weaknesses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
- Dark
- Ground
- Ghost
- Rock
- Water
Avoid fighting against Pokémon capable of attacks of these types with your Skeledirge or make use of them when you’re up against the fire-breathing reptile.
Remember, while Skeledirge is susceptible to Dark, Ground, Rock, and Water-type attacks, it is still immune to Normal and Fighting moves and is resistant to Bug, Grass, Fairy, Ice, Poison, and Steel-type attacks. So keep that in mind while going up against a Skeledirge in battle.
Skeledirge starts out with a relatively high HP at 104 and is also high in Defense and Special Attack. However, as all things must be balanced, this leads to lower Attack, Speed, and Special Defense. Coordinate your attacks and pick your targets while keeping this in mind as well. May the odds be ever in your favor.
