Viper is a controller-type agent and has abilities that you can use to overpower your opponents. Viper can be used on almost every map and has the power to handle post-plant gameplays.

First, let’s list out the abilities of vipers –
- Snakebite
- Poison cloud
- Toxic screen
- Viper’s pit (Ult)
1. Snakebite
In-game description “EQUIP a chemical launcher. FIRE to launch a canister that shatters upon hitting the floor, creating a lingering chemical zone that damages and applies vulnerability.”
Using this ability damages foe that stands in the affected area, but there’s more. Your enemies become vulnerable, and they take more damage per hit.
This ability is useful to restrict opponents from entering the site. Even if they do force their entry, they’ll be vulnerable and you can spray them with your weapon, and they’ll take more damage per hit.
You can use snakebite to lure out enemies hiding behind walls, in closed spaces, or restrict their movements.
If you know your line-ups, you can stop spike defusal and that too without having to fight. This is the best option if you are in a 1 vs many situations. Viper can almost always save your post-plant game if you are familiar with the abilities.
2. Poison cloud
In-game description “EQUIP a gas emitter. FIRE to throw the emitter that perpetually remains throughout the round. ALT FIRE to lob. RE-USE the ability to create a toxic gas cloud at the cost of fuel. This ability can be RE-USED more than once and can be picked up to be REDEPLOYED.”
The poisonous cloud decays passing targets, temporarily reducing their HP. It reduced the enemy’s HP by 30 on contact and then lowers it at a rate of 10HP/sec until the enemy is left at 1 HP.
As a controller, it is your duty to help your teammates establish control over a site, and cut enemy vision.
Using the poison orb, you can set up one-way smokes and traps.
A one-way smoke allows you to see the positions of your enemies while giving you the upper hand.
Or you can simply throw the orb on the ground at the entrance of the side, and hide your snakebite or traps with the smoke.
You can also use the poison orb to escape dire situations or blind enemy traps.
3. Toxic wall
In-game description “EQUIP a gas emitter launcher that penetrates terrain. FIRE to deploy a long line of gas emitters. RE-USE the ability to create a tall wall of toxic gas at the cost of fuel. This ability can be RE-USED more than once.”
Using this ability you can lay a long line of gas emitters that creates a wall upon activating it. This ability is very helpful on both attacking and defending sides.
This wall blocks enemy vision and gives decay damage to enemies passing through the wall. Thus it becomes an important utility in a pre-plant scenario, allowing you to block enemy fire and push and establish control over a site. The wall and poison orb can both be reactivated any number of times and from any distance.
4. Viper’s Ult
In-game description “EQUIP a chemical sprayer. FIRE sprays a chemical cloud in all directions around Viper, creating a large cloud that reduces the vision range of players and the maximum health of enemies inside of it. HOLD the ability key to disperse the cloud early.”
It requires 7 ult points to activate the Viper’s pit and is one of the most overpowered abilities in the game.
When enemies are in the affected area, their visibility is reduced considerably while decaying their HP.
You can gain control over a large area with this Ult, giving you the upper hand. A pro player will never let a prey get away if they enter the pit.
