Even though it has been years since Dead by Daylight was released in 2016, it continues to maintain a steady player count, popularity, and relevance, much thanks to its regular updates and content drops. This new year, the meta of the game has shifted, especially when playing as a survivor. With the amount of content dropped last year, there are plenty of fresh new ways to play as a survivor.
To get you all caught up with the ever-changing meta of Dead by Daylight, or if you’re a new player, up to speed about the intricacies of the different builds, here’s some of the most efficient builds for any killer.
Survivor Progress Hindering Build
As the name suggests, this build focuses on hindering the Generators’ progress more than anything else. If you’re more of a passive player, this one might be perfect for you.

- Corrupt Intervention
- Tinkerer (Hilibily)
This perk set will allow the killer to stop the generators on demand which is really disrupting for the survivors. Thanks to the Corrupt Intervention, the three generators farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for 80 to 120 seconds.
Awareness Build
If you’re one of those killers who have a hard time finding any survivors to hunt, this build will help you be more aware of where the survivors are.
- A Nurse’s Calling (Nurse)
- Bitter Murmur
- Sloppy Butcher
- Spies from the Shadows
Note that the Sloppy Butcher Perk included here is highly versatile when it comes to hunting. It inflicts the Mangled status, decreasing the rate at which survivors can heal themselves and increasing the rate at which they bleed out. So this build can be used to counteract any health perks that the survivors must be using.
The Brute Build
In the current meta, survivors use the pallets to slow down the killer. Since there is no path to simply avoid them, it is really tiring having to break them constantly. If you want to have an easier time breaking pallets, look no further, this build is for you.

- Brutal Strength (The Trapper)

The Brutal Strength Build enables the Killers to shred through the defenses of their prey – including pallets, breakable walls, and even generators.
The Balanced Build
This build is fun to play with no matter what your playstyle is. It’s a perfect mix of the most useful perks and provides a good balance of all abilities.
So if you’re unsure which one to pick, this is our best recommendation. You can’t go wrong with this build.
