Deathloop Lag Fix: No Stuttering, Increase Fps, No Throttle

Deathloop received outstanding ratings from various famous sites like IGN a 10/10, a 4/5 from Common Sense Media, 10/10 from Gamespot and 88% from Metacritic. Despite these the steam review for this game has dropped to mixed.

This downfall in the review on steam is due to the lags and stuttering users are facing on their PCs which make this game difficult to play and is very irritating. Developers said that they are looking into this, and it is their top priority.

Cause of the lag

The main cause of this may be due to the DRM denuvo protection this game has. As the denuvo protection makes it difficult for the game to be cracked and pirated but in return comes with many lags and fps drop for users.

In the denuvo protection games a heavy CPU and GPU utilization is used and this causes an irregular delays between the graphics processing unit (GPU) and the image on your display which results in fps drops and stuttering.

Recently in the Reddit page of Deathloop developers Bethesda responded to one of the meme on the performance of the game, and they said that they will make it top priority and look into it.

Update Drivers:

Getting your graphic drivers up to date is an important aspect which helps in boosting FPS and reduce game stutter. In order to update the drivers for your graphic card follow all the steps one by one.

1. For Nvidia Users: Press Windows Key and search GeForce Experience.
2. For AMD Users: Press Windows Key and search AMD Radeon Software.

Delete Temporary Files:

Temporary Files take a lot of space and this leads to the slow-down of hard disk. If your hard disk slows down it will result in more fps drop and stuttering. In order to delete the temp files follow these steps :

1. Press the Windows Button + R to open the “Run” dialog box.
2. Enter this text: %temp%
3. Click “OK.” This will open your temp folder.
4. Press Ctrl + A to select all. 
5. Press “Delete” on your keyboard and click “Yes” to confirm.
6. Skip the files that are not deleted.
7. Now your temporary files are deleted.
