Reddit is basically a large group of forums where people interact and talk about anything of common interest. In the last few years, Reddit has blown up massively in popularity and is becoming an internet giant with more than 430 million monthly users.

Most of the viral videos that you may see on other platforms usually originate from Reddit. What makes the platform so great is the diversity of content found there, if you have an interest there is probably a Reddit forum for it.

But one of the main criticisms of the website is its complexity with many users feeling confused while using the site and being completely lost on how they are supposed to navigate it or perform basic tasks. Today we will tell you how you can delete your Reddit account and history permanently.

How To Permanently Delete Your Account

Below is the complete step-by-step process on how you delete your Reddit account permanently –

  1. Open Browser
  2. Go to Reddit and Sign In
  3. Go to User Settings – You will see a down arrow button on the top right of your screen after logging in, click on the arrow to find the User Settings.
  4. Deactivate your Account – In the User setting, you will be taken to the “Account” page where you need to scroll all the way to the bottom to see a deactivate my account button in red. Click on the button and your account will now be deleted and your username would no longer exist.

How to Delete Post History

Actually, there are two ways you can delete on Reddit –

  1. Using Overview Tab – One way you can remove your post history is by going to the “Overview” section of your profile and deleting one post at a time. By this method, you can choose what you want to be erased from the net and what can stay up. But if you want to delete all your post history at once the second method just may suit you.
  2. Using Nuke Reddit History – “Nuke Reddit History” is a google extension that you can add to chrome for free. This extension gets rid of all of your history at once and is very time effective.
