Dying light 2 graced us with beautiful visuals when it was released, however, if you’re looking for something more and don’t mind getting your hands dirty greasy there is much more it can offer.
You can unlock extra settings which can give you better texture quality and sharpness along with this you can also activate AMD’s Ultra Quality FSR which is something you cannot use with the game’s default interface.
It should be noted dying light 2 does have support for AMD’s FSR but only offers balance, performance, and quality but after our little tweak you should be able to see FSR at its best quality.

To do this all you need to do is edit the video.scr file which you will find in Documents/dying light 2/out/settings
folder. The best way to open this file is to use a notepad. Once you’re in the file you will notice that everything is quite self-explanatory.
All you need to do now is search for the upscaling entry. This will only have the options for performance (0), balanced (1) and best quality (2) setting this to 3 will unlock the ultra quality FSR option. To get the best out of the FSR ultra setting you will need to set the following.
- Scale3D(0.77)
- FSR(1.000000)
- Upscaler(3)
- Upscaling(3)
Save the file as a read-only file so that a game does not accidentally right over your custom settings. You can do this by right-clicking it, selecting properties, and checking the box at the bottom of the window.
Now you should have access to the ultra quality setting when you relaunch the game. Let me know how much better it looks after the tweaks in the comments.
