Elden Ring: Soft Caps for each Stat & Attribute (Explained)

Elden Ring is an open-world RPG developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. On February 25, 2025, it was released on all major platforms. Players can explore the open interactive world of Elden Ring, which is presented from a third-person perspective.

You can allocate your levels more wisely if you are aware of the Soft Caps.

There are several Soft Caps for each attribute that, when achieved, will result in diminishing results for additional Runes invested in them. The Elden Ring’s Soft Caps for each attribute are listed below.

Mind

The Focus Stat and FP (the resource used for Incantations and Sorceries) are both controlled by the Mind Attribute.

  • Gain in FP increases from three to seven from level 1 to 50.
  • Level 50 is the first soft cap, with an alternate FP gain of 5 and 6.
  • Level 57’s second soft cap reduces FP gain to 4.
  • The third soft cap is at level 60, where the FP gain alternates between 2 and 3.

Vigor

Vigor, along with the Fire Resistance and Immunity Stats, is the attribute that impacts HP.

  • Gain in HP increases from 4 to 48 from level 1 to 40.
  • Level 40 marks the first soft cap; the HP gain drops from 26 to 13.
  • Level 60’s second soft cap: HP gain decreases from 6 to 3.

Dexterity

Dexterity increases the attack strength of weapons. It decreases the time it takes to cast spells, lessens fall damage and makes it more difficult for adversaries to knock you off.

  • Attack power growth varies depending on the weapon and is soft capped at levels 20, 55 and 80.

  • Sorceries have a soft cap at levels 60 and 80. Depending on the sorcery, further damage is gained.

Endurance

The Robustness stat and stamina of your character are impacted by Endurance.

  • Stamina gain fluctuates between one and two from level 1 to 50.
  • Stamina gain fluctuates between zero and one at Level 50, the soft cap.
  • The weight of the equipment your character can use is also governed by endurance.
  • Maximum equipment load gain goes from 1.0 to 1.6 from level nine to level 60.
  • Level 60’s soft cap has a maximum equipment load gain that fluctuates between 1.0 and 1.1.

Faith

Faith is the attribute that amplifies the potency of Faith-scaling weapons and Incantations.

  • Weapons have soft caps at levels 20, 55 and 80; attack power gain varies by weapon.
  • Incantations’ damage gains are different based on the incantation, and they are soft capped at levels 60 and 80.

Strength

Strength is the attribute that increases the power of weapons whose damage scales with Strength and has an impact on your character’s physical defence.

  • Attack power growth varies depending on the weapon and is soft capped at levels 20, 55 and 80.
