Error 0xc0000135 fixes

Has this error been the bane of your existence since the last windows 11 update? Let’s look at a few easy fixes for this. Make sure you follow the steps in order so you can fix this problem in the easiest way possible.

Using the Command Prompt

The first fix is by typing a set of commands in the Command Prompt and running each of their processes. The commands that you have to run are:

  • dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:netfx3 /all
  • dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-HTTP-Activation
  • dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:WCF-NonHTTP-Activation

If you don’t know how to run these commands, follow these easy steps:

  • Click on the Search icon at the bottom of your screen. This will be on the right side of your Windows Icon. When you’re on the search bar, type Command Prompt. The application will be displayed to you on the screen.
  • Make sure you right-click on this application and Run it as Administrator. This is a necessary step. This process might not work if you open the Prompt normally. Once you’ve opened the application, you will see a black screen with a cursor bleeping. Copy the first command above and paste it into that area. Press ENTER.
  • Wait for the application to finish the process. This might take up to a minute. Once it’s done and it shows that the process is 100% finished, paste the second command and repeat the same process until all the commands are finished.
  • Once all the operations are finished, simply close the application and restart your computer. This should solve the error for most people. If this doesn’t solve it for you, then move on to the next step. This whole process is to reinstall the .NET framework on your computer.

Enabling .NET 3.5

If the above process doesn’t solve your problem, the next step is to enable the .NET frameworks on your computer. For doing this, follow these steps:

  • Open the Search bar like before and type Turn Windows Features On or Off. Open this application and make sure .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.8 are both checked.
  • If either of these frameworks were not checked for you, click on OK after clicking on the check button. Once this process is done, Restart your computer and check for the error again.

This error can occur if either of your .NET frameworks is disabled. If this still doesn’t fix your error, then head over to the next solution.

Roll Back your Windows Update

Follow these steps to roll back your update:

  • Open Settings on your computer by searching for it on the Search Bar and head over to Windows Update and then Update History. Scroll down and click on Uninstall Updates.
  • Under the Microsoft Windows tab, you will see the dates of every update. Select the most recent update and click on the Uninstall button at the top. Let the process finish and restart your computer. This should most definitely fix this error for you.

If you don’t want to be bothered with Windows asking you to update again, you can use the Show or Hide Troubleshooter from Microsoft to hide that particular update. That is all for this article, hope you were able to fix the error.
