“In the depth of the distant future, there is only war.” Although this quote is from the Warhammer 40k universe, it is still a good description of the Total Warhammer franchise.
Total War Warhammer 3 is a turn-based real-time strategy game developed by Creative Assembly and is the latest installment in the franchise. Similar to the previous Total War games, you have to choose your faction and wage war with your enemies for total world domination. You can choose from the Chaos gods to the new factions introduced in the game.
To learn how to choose the best faction in the game, follow this Total War tier list.
Total War Warhammer 3 Faction Tier List.
Before diving into ranking the factions of Total War Warhammer 3, familiarize yourself with the two brand-new races in the game.
The first one is “Kislev,” which resembles medieval Russians. Their homeland is situated to the north and is a desolate, freezing environment. This faction has been a fan favorite from the date of its reveal.
The second one is “Grand Cathay,” which resembles medieval China. This race is going to be introduced for the first time in a Total War Warhammer game.
Platinum Tier in Total War Warhammer 3.
The top and the best tier in the game are reserved for two factions. The first is “Khorne,” the Chaos god of blood, skulls, and war. “Khorne” is the most overpowered faction in the game. After winning every battle, you will get increased movement speed. In addition to that, you will get three armies after every battle.
The second faction in the platinum tier is “Cathay.” This new faction is well balanced. The perfect balance between artillery, missile units, and infantry makes “Cathay” a top-tier faction. The location of “Cathay” and its rich economy gives a great boost while starting the game.
Gold Tier in Total War Warhammer 3.
The first faction in the gold tier is the Chaos god “Tzeentch.” “Tzeentch,” also known as the “Architect of Fate,” has effective diplomacy in its arsenal. In addition to the faction’s strong armies and magic powers, it can also teleport. Players who choose “Tzeentch” can ambush enemies by using the teleporting mechanic.
The second faction in the gold tier is the newly introduced “Kislev.” This faction is perfect for amateurs and is easy to progress with. One of its strongest units is the missile unit which proves to be unbreakable. The bear units of the “Kislev” faction are also formidable opponents.
Silver Tier in Total War Warhammer 3.
The silver tier in this list is reserved for the Choas god of disease and pestilence, “Nurgle.” This faction has a special troop backup ability. “Nurgle” has strong magic at its disposal, but the overall speed of his army is extremely slow.
Bronze Tier in Total War Warhammer 3.
The bronze tier of this list is occupied by “Slaanesh,” the chaos god of pleasure and hedonism. This faction consists of swift units wearing light armor. The special ability of this faction is that it can convince enemy armies to fight for “Slaanesh.
The second faction of this list is “Chaos Undivided.” All the forces of Chaos band together in one faction called “Chaos Undivided.” This faction is a jack of all trades and master of none.
Wood Tier in Total War Warhammer 3.
The worst and the last tier of this list is reserved for the “Ogre” faction. The units of this faction are the worst and suffer the most in war.
