Genshin Impact is one of the most popular and long-lasting open-world games in the Gaming Industry. That might be because of its progressive storyline or the Gacha Mechanic which includes a wishing system that features a new character or a re-run every 21 days. The Genshin Impact Youtube Channel recently surpassed 5 million Subscribers and that speaks a lot about the game’s popularity.
On March 28, Hoyoverse released posters of their upcoming characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu, set to release in their upcoming version update. Yelan is a 5-star hydro-bow character. She is a mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs. This Yelan guide will highlight her best weapons, teams, artifacts and tips and tricks.
While Yelan is still in beta testing, there isn’t a certain way to judge the best weapons for her. But, based on her kit, these weapons are most likely going to work well with Yelan.
- Aqua Simulacra
Yelan Guide for weapon wouldn’t be complete without her signature weapon. Genshin usually releases a signature weapon with all of their 5-star characters and just like every other signature weapon, Aqua Simulacra is probably going to be Yelan’s best-in-slot. The bow has CRIT DMG as a secondary stat and has a passive that increases the character’s HP and damage if there are enemies nearby.
- Polar Star
Polar star is a signature weapon for Tartaglia(Childe) but also has a very suitable passive for Yelan. It increases the elemental skill/burst damage by 12% and provides a 48% ATK boost on 4 stacks of Ashen Nightstar at Refinement 1. It should be really easy to gain these stacks with Yelan’s elemental skill. Her ascension stat is CRIT RATE which is also the secondary stat for Polar Star. So, Travellers can focus heavily on Crit DMG when it comes to artifacts if they’re using this bow.
- The Stringless
Stringless has one of the simplest passives in the game. It simply provides 48% Elemental Skill and Burst damage at Refinement 5. It also provides Elemental Mastery as a secondary stat which could be really good for Yelan for the off-field Turret gameplay that she seems to be based around.
- Mouun’s Moon
Mouun’s Moon provides a maximum of 80% Elemental Burst DMG to the character who has it equipped based on the combined energy capacity of the entire team. Since Yelan’s burst costs 70 energy, this weapon can be a decent choice for F2P and low spenders. It also provides ATK as a secondary stat which is never bad.
- Alley Hunter
Alley Hunter provides a DMG boost to a character when they are off-field which goes up to 40%. While Alley Hunter might not be the best choice for Yelan, it can still be a decent substitute in case Travellers don’t have any of the above mentioned weapons.
- Sacrificial Bow
Last but not the least, Sacrificial bow gives Travellers the ability to use the Elemental Skill twice and provides extra Energy Recharge which can always be good for a character with 70 Energy requirement. Sacrificial bow can be a decent choice for Yelan even though it probably wouldn’t be preferred.
Yelan’s kit is based around an off-field turret-centered gameplay. She has an insane amount of hydro application and her burst works similar to Fischl’s Elemental Skill. While Yelan will do great in any team as an off-field damage dealer, she might be best in certain reaction teams such as the following:
- Vaporize team
Vaporize is one of the strongest reaction in Genshin Impact. It can provide 1.5x-2x extra damage depending on the way vaporize happens. Yelan is going to be one of the best in vaporize teams due to her off-field constant Hydro application. She can be used along with any Pyro main DPS like Diluc, Yoimiya, Hu tao, Yanfei, etc.
- Taser team
Taser team refers to a team combination of Hydro and Electro making Electro-Charged reaction. This team is popular in Genshin due to it’s crowd-controlling ability and its AoE. Yelan can be used along with Electro characters like Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun to constantly crowd control the enemy while you keep dealing damage to them.
- Freeze Team
Freeze teams are one of the most popular teams in Genshin Impact. Freeze completely prevents an enemy from moving and gives Travellers an easy way to deal insane damage to them without taking absolutely any damage at all. Yelan can be used in a freeze team along with numerous characters like Shenhe, Kamisato Ayaka, Ganyu, Diona, Rosaria, etc.
Yelan guide can never be complete without mentioning her best artifact sets among the sets currently in the game. Artifacts are the source of the majority of the damage for any character and are also the only grind for Genshin Endgame. Here’s what we know about the best artifact sets for Yelan:
- Heart of Depth
Heart of Depth is a Hydro-based piece that provides Travellers with 15% Hydro damage bonus on 2 set-piece. Although, the 4 piece bonus on Heart of Depth seems pretty useless on Yelan. Heart of Depth can be combined with a 2 Piece bonus of another set, possibly a set that provides higher HP or Elemental skills or burst bonus.
- Noblesse Oblige
Noblesse Oblige seems to be the best-in-slot artifact set for Yelan at the moment, at least when it comes to 4-piece bonus. It provides Travellers with Elemental Burst DMG bonus and also ATK bonus for other party members on successful activation of Elemental Burst. Both of these bonuses support Yelan’s off-field Turret gameplay really well.
- Blizzard Strayer
While the 2-piece bonus for Blizzard Strayer is useless to Yelan, she can benefit from the 4-piece bonus of this set if Travellers are planning to use her in Freeze teams. Her crit rate can go up to 40% in a freeze team with this set piece and players can focus on other stats on the individual artifacts.
That’s all for Yelan Guide. Hope it helps Travellers out there who are looking to pre-farm for the amazingly designed character coming to the game soon.
