Valorant by Riot Games is one of the most famous FPS shooters of all time and made its way into the arena in Sept 2020. Inspired by popular titles like Counter-Strike and other Tactical Shooters and borrowing several mechanics like buy menu, spray patterns, and inaccuracy while moving.
The player plays as one of a set of Agents, characters based on several countries and cultures around the world. In main game mode, the players are assigned to either the attacking or the defending team making it a 5 vs 5 showdown.
The game is known to have a large collection of weapons and tonnes of customizations like skins for it to better enhance the experience in all unique ways.
The game is also known to have different PvP modes like:
- Unrated
- Competitive
- Spike Rush
- Deathmatch
The deathmatch mode is the one that is currently more popular as it’s also seen in other popular titles like PUBG and CoD.
Now, what if Deathmatch mode and competitive mode were merged together with hints from spike rush mode? That’s right, Valorant is getting a new game mode that might just blow every competition currently available.
This new game mode can supposedly support similar skill-level player matching and take it to a whole new level.

So what is the new mode?

The new kid to the block is called the premier mode. This mode will allow players to compete across a season of pre-scheduled matches.
You will also be able to create or join a team of five friends, acquaintances, and neighbours and battle for glory against similar skill level players which is fairly new to the game.
After building a rooster, the team will be placed in a division where it’s gonna play across a season that will be composed of a balanced mix of weekly matches and tournaments.
Each of such seasons will be changed in a few weeks and the most consistent team may qualify to battle for the title of ‘Division Champion’.
Riot games addressed challenge-hungry players and stated that it wanted to build a connection between the game and its esports setup through a highly competitive mode that will enable players to experience Valorant in a similar way that pros and teams do.
Although for now, this premier mode is in the alpha stages and will soon be made available for beta testing, the progress is growing strong and we can expect it to come out to the public in a couple of months.
So for now, all we can do is wait and let the alpha testers do their thing to ensure a smooth release. We all must know that this is just a report from the alpha testers and this mode will include many more features once it’s released for the public to enjoy and review it.
