Resident Evil 4 Remake vs The Original Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4 is a survival horror third-person shooter game developed and published by Capcom. It was originally released in 2005.

The remake of RE4 was announced earlier this month during Sony’s State of Play Livestream and is going to release on PC and consoles next year.

The new teaser highlighted the game’s substantially improved graphics and gameplay, with the same spine-chilling environment that made Resident Evil 4 a sensation when it was released back in 2005.

“This time, the game is being developed to achieve state-of-the-art quality for a survival horror suitable for 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game. We aim to make the game feel familiar to fans of the series, while also providing a fresh feeling to it.

This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics and updating the controls to a modern standard.”

It’s not surprising that the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake has garnered a lot of attention since its introduction earlier this month, given Capcom’s stellar record with remakes of games. The game has looked stunning in what little of it we’ve seen so far.

A new comparison video uploaded by the YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits highlights a variety of improvements made to the game, including the lighting and time of day changes at the beginning of the game, which create a creepier atmosphere, and the character model details, as Leon appears to be much more detailed than he used to be.

We can tell from the trailer that the developers are leaning toward horror. It is anticipated that the more corny parts of the first game will be toned down. The continuity that began with the remake of Resident Evil 2 is continued in this version of Resident Evil 4.

Therefore, given that they had a different experience, the personality of the returning characters will probably have changed somewhat. This is immediately apparent in Leon’s gloomy demeanour as he approaches the settlement in the first scene.

The game is currently in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It is expected to launch on March 24, 2023.
