COD MW II(2) Best Settings for FOV Slider, 3rd Person & More

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta is out and almost every gamer wants to get his hands on the new big thing published by Activision. Call of Duty games have always been popular and are one of the fan favourites when it comes to the PC gaming world. The beta is available to download on either Battle.net or Steam.

This article will tell you about the best settings you can use when you install the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and will also tell you about the optimal FOV settings and 3rd Person mode.

Beat Settings For Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Beta

These settings are explained in a very brief manner to give you a general idea of what settings to tinker with to get the most optimal performance while playing the game.

Audio– When it comes to audio in every call of duty game the priority is to hear the footsteps of the opponent as loud and as clear as possible. The footsteps in the game are loud by default but you can make them even louder. In the audio mix, you can choose either Home Theatre or Headphone Bass Boost to make the footsteps even louder. You also need to bind a key of choice to the push-to-talk as it is disabled by default.

Graphics– The graphics settings are a subjective matter which varies from player to player and depends heavily on the specifications of the PC. The setting options mentioned below focus mainly on performance and frame rate.

On the display tap, select Full-screen mode then set the display resolution and frame rate to that which your monitor supports. Dynamic resolution is useful for maintaining high frame rates and enabling V-Sync will help with minimising the screen tearing in 60Hz displays.

On the Quality, tab makes sure to set the render resolution to 100% because there is a bug which makes it default to 50%. Enabling Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR depends on your graphics card. These are better options than standard anti-aliasing but keep in mind that not all graphics cards support these options.

These options should be enabled as they optimise the performance- Cache Spot Shadows, Cache Sun Shadows, Nvidia Reflex Low Latency, and On-demand Texture Streaming. Slow internet speed may lead to packet loss when using On-demand Texture Streaming. Other than these, you can always drop everything to low to get the highest frame rates and performance on the compromise of visual quality.

The interface options are subjective and can be adjusted as per the player’s tastes.

The FOV (Field of View) settings are very important in any First person shooter game and the same can be said for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Previously in MW 2019, the FOV settings could oy be changed on the PC but with MW-2 the FOV settings can now be changed on both consoles and PC.

To change the FOV settings in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 follow these steps:

  2. Open the settings and select the ‘Graphics’ tab.
  3. Look under the ‘View’ section for the FOV setting.
  4. Move the slider to set your desired FOV

Anything between the value 105 to 120 on the FOV slider is recommended.

3rd Person mode Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

There is no option or toggle to switch into 3rd person or first person in Call of Duty MW2. The game locks you into 3rd person from the beginning to guarantee that all the players playing are in 3rd person as well.

You need to select the 3rd person moshpit which is the very last option to start playing into 3rd person mode. In the 3rd person mode, you can play Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. You can adjust your 3rd person FOV by going into the ‘Graphics’ tab in settings.

That is all you need to know about the best settings in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta. For the more latest news, guides, tips and tricks related to games and technology make sure to subscribe to our newsletter.
